2012 Prizes

1st Prize € 15,000

2nd Prize € 10,000

3rd Prize € 7,000

4th Prize € 5,000

Eight prizes of 1,000 each will be awarded to the remaining semi-finalists.

Twelve prizes of 500 each will be awarded to the remaining competitors who reach the second round.

The NSO Prize of a performance with the National Symphony Orchestra will be awarded for the best concerto performance by a finalist other than the 1st Prize winner.

The Charles J. Brennan Prize of € 1,500 presented by his family, the RTÉ Prize of a concerto performance and the National Concert HallPrize of a debut recitalwill be awarded to the bestplaced Irish participant.

The Mc Cullough Bursary, in memory of the late Denis Mc Cullough, founder of Mc Cullough's Music Shop, and his wife Agnes, and presented by his grandson Denis Mc Cullough will be awarded to the winner of the Brennan Prize to assist in the production of a CD recording.

The four main prizes awarded by the Jury will be based on performances in all rounds.

 

The Competition have negotiated, in principle, a series of appearances which include:

Orchestral/Recital Engagements

A substantial number of engagements will be offered including the Wigmore Hall in London and the Carnegie Hall in New York along with orchestras and recitals in Ireland, Europe, the United States and the Far East

 






THE DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION

will take place in Dublin from 4 May to 15 May 2012

 
Applications in progress must be received by 15th November 2011
 
The Competition will be in four rounds.

The first two Preliminary Stages will be held in the
Royal Dublin Society, from 4 to 10 May.

The Semi-Finals will be held on 12 & 13 May in the
National Concert Hall, Dublin.

The Final – concerto performances with the
RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland
conducted by James Cavanagh
will be held on 15 May.

The Semi-Finals & Final will be recorded by
Radio Telefís Éireann
