Soo-Jung, Ann from Seoul, Korea is a student of John O`Conor of the Royal lrish Academy of Music where she is studying on the Master in Music Performance Programme. She is a former student of Choong Mo, Kang at the School of Music of the Korean National University of Arts where she obtained a Bachelor Degree of Music in February 2OO7.

Emmanuel Christien studied in the Conservatoire National Supérieurd de Musique de Paris with Jacques Rouvier, where he obtained the highest prize. He also studied there chamber music and vocal accompaniment.

Fiachra Garvey
Ireland
Fiachra Garvey started his piano studies at the age of six, with Elizabeth Leonard at the Leeson Park School of Music. In 1999, with Therese Fahy as his teacher, he moved to the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he had gained an Entrance Scholarship. In 2008, Fiachra was awarded a 1st class Honours Diploma in Music (performance and teaching) from the RIAM. With Dr John O`Conor as one of his teachers, he is currently in his 2nd year of a BA degree in Performance.

Steven moved to United States in 1999 to study with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School Pre-college Division in New York. In addition to his performances within the Juilliard Pre-college division, Steven has performed in The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The New Brunswick State Theatre, Alice Tully Hall, and Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. His Juilliard chamber music ensemble has performed in Jordan Hall at The New England Conservatory in March 2007 for National Public Radio`s " From the Top".

Jong-Hai Park was born on October 17, 1990, in Seoul, Korea. For 2 years, from 1999 to 2000, he attended The Neighbourhood Music School and The Hart School, University of Hartford under the direction of M. Francis (CT, USA). For the following 5 years, from 2001 to 2006, he studied the piano at Yewon Music School, Seoul Arts High School, and the Preparatory Division of Korean National University of Arts (KNUA, Seoul) under the direction of Professor Chung-Mo Kang and Ji-Yune Kim. He was honourably permitted entrance of KNUA through the Prodigy Program 2006. He has won several domestic and International competitions, including the 1999 Greater New Haven Concert Orchestra Competition (1st prize), the 23rd Renee B. Fisher Competition (2nd prize.), Korea Philharmonic Orchestra Concour in 2OO2 (1st prize), Ewhakyunghang Competition in 2005 (3rd prize), China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition in 2006 (semifinalist), The 4th Nagoya International Music Competition in 2008 (2nd prize) and The 2nd Hong Kong lnternational Piano Competition in 2008 (2nd prize). He also had a lot of piano recitals including Kumho Prodigy Concert and Young Artist Concert Series.

Gerhard Vielhaber

Gerhard Vielhaber was born in Attendorn, Germany in 1982 and began to play the piano when he was six years old. Beginning in 1994, he took private lessons from Prof.Kämmerling, continuing studies with him in Hanover in 2002. After obtaining his performance degree in 2006, he began studying with Prof. Rouvier at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Vielhaber won First Prize at Czech Radio’s International Competition for Young Musicians—Concertino Praga 1997 and in 2005 he received a scholarship from the German Music Competition. In the same year he was a finalist in the Tomassoni Piano Competition in Cologne.

THE DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION

will take place in Dublin from 4 May to 15 May 2012

 
Applications in progress must be received by 15th November 2011
 
The Competition will be in four rounds.

The first two Preliminary Stages will be held in the
Royal Dublin Society, from 4 to 10 May.

The Semi-Finals will be held on 12 & 13 May in the
National Concert Hall, Dublin.

The Final – concerto performances with the
RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland
conducted by James Cavanagh
will be held on 15 May.

The Semi-Finals & Final will be recorded by
Radio Telefís Éireann
