Finlay Programme 2017

Last December, following the exceptional standard of the participants and in an unusual move, six ‎talented young pianists were selected to take part in the next William Finlay Programme for Gifted ‎Young Pianists 2017-2018.‎
Breaking with tradition since the foundation of the programme in 2010, where four promising ‎pianists have been chosen for each Competition cycle, the three renowned adjudicators (John ‎O’Conor, Finghin Collins and Seamus Crimmins) chose six from the 12 applicants such was the ‎standard of performance and interview.‎
The six chosen Finlay Programme participants (five girls and a boy) are: ‎

The Finlay Progamme officially kicked off on 20th January, when the participants attended the ‎rehearsals of John O’Conor’s 70th Anniversary celebratory concert in National Concert Hall.‎
The young pianists had a great experience on the day, mostly appreciating the behind-the-scenes ‎glimpses of performance life during the rehearsals access. ‎

Dublin International Piano Competition is an approved body under the terms of Section 848A of the 1997 Taxes Consolidation Act, whereby donations in between €250 and €1,000,000 per annum are eligible for tax relief. Such relief accruing to the Competition.
