Sasha Grynyuk an artists whose qualities were described by Charles Rosen as “remarkable, unfailing musicality always moving with the most natural, electrifying, and satisfying interpretation”- was born in Kyiv and received his early musical training in the National Music Academy of Ukraine.
Following his concerto debut at the age of eleven Sasha became a prize winner at Horowitz and Gilels international Piano Competitions and received the “Future of Ukraine” Presidential Award as a Musician of the Year.
Since 2003 Sasha is based in London where he studies with Ronan O`Hora at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Making his London debut at the Purcell Room as a result of winning the Jaques Samuel Piano Competition he plays concerts recitals and chamber music throughout Europe, Asia and USA appearing at such venues as Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore, Barbican, Carnegie and Bridgewater Halls. He has Also contributed from working with such great artists as Murray Perrahia, Emanuel Ax, Richard Goode, Stephen Kovacevich, Stephen Hough, Emerson and Takacs String Quartets.
Sasha is a winner of numerous prizes and awards. His most recent successes In 2007/08 season include First Prizes at HaverhiIl international Music Competition and Tunbridge Wells international Yong Concert Artists Competition, Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, Martin/ Philharmonia Orchestra Musical Fund, John Hosier and Hattori Foundation awards, Yamaha European Foundation Award and Guildhall School`s most prestigious prize- the Gold Medal previously won by such artists as Jaquelin Du Pre and Bryn Terfel.
